i don't want to say i haaaate rome, but.....
sorry - i kind of sort of do.
i know that makes me, like, not a human being,
but i'm just being honest.
i could do a post on all the reasons why
but for now i'll just say
that when jenny came to visit me last summer,
she said, "can we go to rome?"
and i said, "i've been to rome one time...
...and that was one time too many."
because it was her first time in europe, however,
i obliged her.
i even managed to withhold my negativity the whole time
so that she could form her own opinion of the city
independent of my prejudice.
her conclusion?
"waiting in line for the metro in rome
is purgatory on earth...
...and when you step off the metro,
you've arrived in hell."
but at least it makes for some good photography, right?
good.to.know.... Good thing we dont have a Rome trip in our future...except my husband may try and get me there...BUT i'm thinking of sticking to warmer climates for the rest of our time here.
Aw, I'm sorry you hate it so much! Nobody I know has ever been there. At least the pictures are beautiful. :)

even if you hate rome, i love that you went just so i could swoon over the amazing photos.
i love it!
Love that camera!! I remember how much you disliked Rome. It's not a place I want to ever go!!
Aw, I had such an amazing time in Rome, sorry to hear it didn't treat you as well on your visit. :(
beautiful photos!! and thank you for the sweetest comment on my blog! you are a dear! would be obliged to send you some raspberry rolls but i fear they may go bad before you got them!!
omg, purgatory! i had a short visit there once and felt sort of the same way. much prefer many of the other less metro cities like Verona or Cinque Terre. but yes, those lomos are stunning!!! ♥
I hate Rome, too. I mean, I don't hate it.. but there are so many other beautiful, non-touristy and CLEANER cities in Italy that it's hard for me to enjoy being there.
I'm not a big fan of Rome either - too many people and everyone is so rude + everything is so overpriced! Much prefer cities like Florence :)
Loving the pics x
Rome can be a bit of a pain sometimes...it is just part of its charm, I guess.
Hope it will get better one day!
love your pictures!!!
hugs

amazing shots:))))
So sorry you didn't enjoy your visit to Rome. Maybe next time :) At least you managed to take some prety pics!
Visiting hell hardly sounds fun. At least Rome is a pulchritudinous hell!
Oh I know! Some places are just not that fun I don't blame you! I wasn't a big fan of London! But your pictures are great!

Pretty nice photos :)
I'm convinced that a person cannot take bad pictures in Italy...it's just too pretty! Funny that you don't like Rome :) I kind of don't love paris!
oh how i love these pictures! you've got an eye...and what a lovely canvas. italy is my dream vacation!
awesome shots. sad to hear that rome sucks. i think venice sucks too.
oh i'm sorry you hated it darling... you did however take some pretty amazing shots :)
makes for some GREAT photography.
i've never been, but it's never been able to jockey itself to the top of my must-see list, so i'm relieved that it doesn't need to be!
xo.
nice colours! what film did you use?
I'm not the biggest fan of Rome, but during my last visit I found some stuff I liked, like little independent shops, San Lorenzo, which is the "alternative" area and a very vibrant bookstore scene.
i hate rome. the purgatory description of the metro suits it perfectly.
haha the way you feel about Rome is how I feel about Venice.
