spain: alhambra

Monday, June 13, 2011

the only thing i have to say about this day:
eating donuts and napoli chocolate croissants before a 5 hour walk through the city of granada and up to the top of alhambra is not advisable...
especially when a million stairs are involved.
…but those donuts and napoli chocolate croissants were so good.
also the most amazing donuts DSC00522    DSC00533DSC00539DSC00541DSC00542DSC00535DSC00528  (sergi’s reaction to me saying, “i think i’m going to vomit, can we sit down?”)           DSC00544  DSC00546 DSC00547       9.89.99.91      9            DSC00562
granada is a very pretty city, don’t you think?

a very pretty city indeed and this reminds me of the two walks we took in Capri. So many stairs and inclines that I wanted to vomit many times.

These pictures have totally just inspired me. They are breath-taking and beautiful and make me appreciate the little things in life (and in Europe especially!) Like, the blue plates attached to the side of the house, or the potted plants in every single windowsill. Even the chipped paint!

Thank you for sharing these photos with us of such a gorgeous city!

Granada IS beautiful! I visited Spain sometime during the end of the first trimester of pregnancy and I remember feeling like I was going to vomit and having to sit down quite a bit during our trek through Alhambra, too. So funny...definitely worth it!

if we can make it sunny and 90 degrees here every day, i'm thinking this is a good location for our progressive school campus.

grenada and the alahambra are amaaaaaazing. i went in june and just totally fell for it. it's like magic was everywhere - we were wandering one night and heard music...stumble on a symphony playing john williams theme songs from movies. if you can ever go back, try to go in june. it's just...magic.
