The Theodore W. and Betty J. Eckels Foundation with support from Rick Eckels ’70 has established the Theodore William Eckels International Art Practicum at ºìÐÓÊÓƵ College. The practicum will provide an art immersion experience internationally for four to five outstanding students majoring in art or art history to work abroad during an eight-week period in the summer months.
Dr. Laura Loth, associate professor of French and Francophone Studies, is once again bringing a French film festival to ºìÐÓÊÓƵ. An annual event for several years, the program has returned to campus under the name Albertine Cinémathèque French Film Festival and will run from Sept. 17-Oct. 9, 2024.
ºìÐÓÊÓƵ College has announced the appointment of Dr. Scott Newstok, professor of English, as its inaugural executive director of the Spence Wilson Center for Interdisciplinary Humanities. Newly established at ºìÐÓÊÓƵ thanks to a generous donation, the center will gather faculty, students, visiting scholars, and ºìÐÓÊÓƵ members to address complex global questions through humanistic inquiry. In consultation with a faculty advisory board, the executive director will administer the center and oversee its programming.
