as i mentioned in the previous posts, it started snowing the day after thanksgiving and hasn't stopped since. and that's fine with me. my friend emily summed it up best by saying, "ah, so this is what it feels like to live in a snow globe". on the way to and from school, we have to drive through the woods and i always wish i had my camera with me because it seriously looks like narnia. everything is just a white, winter wonderland. and i love it.
the downside is that we only have daylight from the hours of 8:00 - 4:00.
also, the other morning it was -6 fahrenheit on the way to school.
It is so pretty!
Confession. I use to hate the snow. I would be so sad when my cute heels would get ruined, or my killer boots would have salt stains on them.
But then the light went on!
Hmm…perhaps if I am going to live in a place where winter is GOING to come every year, perhaps I should dress for it. So I went out and got some rubber boots, a big warm coat and now I LOVE the snow.
And I too don’t like how it gets dark so early. I come to work in the dark and leave in the dark. Ugh.

oh, you're wrong! yes, maybe the older generation. But young people look at these relationships differently, friendships. In the end we are neighbors :) Personally, I'm impressed with Germany in many ways, life here seems to be safe, you've got good social facilities, well-kept cities, towns, villages, a different mentality. In Poland, people like to complain ;)
and something about fashion :D

interesting! i will have to tell my boyfriend because he and his friends/family are usually of a different opinion. for instance, i was speaking to a young girl i met on a train in krakow and i asked her if she spoke german. she said, "that's not really a question you ask poles....we don't like the language or the people". so good to know someone does. :)

Ay, speak German! :) That's different, you see, in school we were taught mainly Russian, until my generation started to learn English, only a few years after the fall of communism. People in the age of my parents went to Germany for work and most of them (at least in the eastern Poland) sees Germany as a country of prosperity, and the Germans as friends.
Together with my boyfriend, I often wonder why some Poles are so negative attitude to the Germans. After all, what has happened during the WWII, has passed. It's a closed chapter. There are new generations that share more similarities than differences.
Anyway, my family has very positive relations with Germany, and it make happy :)
