1. One of the best emails an American girl in Europe can receive from her mom?
"What kind of snacks do you want in your care package this month?"
Oh goodness...where do I even begin? I need help on this one (no, really - help me!).
2. Why do my German students get to study Band of Horses (specifically this song...one of my favorites) in music class? All I ever got to do in music class at my elementary school was watch Beethoven Lives Upstairs 6 times a month.
3. I'm no longer terrified of talking on the phone in German (this is a big accomplishment for me, as I used to not even answer because I was so intimidated). Instead, that fear has been replaced with the ever-growing paranoia that I've lost something. I'm always checking my bag for my keys, ipod, wallet, passport (if I'm on a train, crossing a border), phone, etc. I realized the extent of my irrational thinking when my phone rang the other day and, while searching through my bag to find it, I said to myself, "Oh no, where is my phone...? I really hope I didn't leave it at school...."
Note that I could feel it vibrating the whole time.
4. I sometimes think about how ideal it would be if someone offered me 2 million dollars to drink a liter of chocolate milk. Talk about a win-win situation.
(Come to think of it, I just love milk in general....it's my dad's fault.)

I second lady lyles. good one. i'm a thin mint fan myself.

good for you for getting over your fear of speaking german on the phone! i am still kind of afraid of speaking french...grr. I wish my mom would email me that!
the creamery at my school makes the best chocolate milk ever. if i could freeze and mail it to you i would. gallons and gallons of it. it's amazing.
Let me know what snacks you choose. I hope the package does not cause as much trouble at the post office as the last one I sent!!!!
haha i would love to win 2 mil for something silly too! life would be good!

Steffys Pros and Cons
teehee! you're hilarious. it's completely awesome they study band of horses over there!! love them. oh man, i agree with girl scout cookies for your care package, since it's that time of year again. fun!
lucky girl to be getting care packages! I definitely think I need to request one of those to come our way soon. all this blog talk of girl scout cookies makes me mighty hungry!
and my ridiculous fear of answering the phone or calling anyone in german is starting to subside as well. yay for us!
I don't think I will every get use to talking on the phone in German!
get out. they really get to study band of horses in music class? i LOVE that band.
#3 sounds exactly like me! I always think I've lost something. I have this one ring that's really special because it was my Mom's. The thing is, it's tiny. It's thin and only fits on my pinky, so it's really hard to loose. I spent an hour last week searching for it and freaking out because a thin, tiny ring could be anywhere right? of course it's on my finger. of course.
Haha, I'd love to see your American snack list. Loving your blog so far.
Yummm. I LOVE chocolate milk! Even if I am lactose intolerant (or whatever its called) and it causes me minor heartburn! Haha. I really hope that problem doesnt increase as I get older because then I dont know what I would do.
