when people ask me what food i miss most from america, there is no question.
mexican, mexican, mexican.
so when my parents and sisters picked me up from the airport last month and asked me where i wanted to eat lunch, i didn’t even have to think twice.
i’m back in europe again now, but i’d sort of like to transport myself to this table, where i sat on august 6th. that food was amazing and my wonderful month in the states was just beginning.
more american visit photos/stories to come.
until then, cheers from london!
You two look so much alike! Now I want Mexican...
mmmm Mexican...
I love mexican food too and it always hits the spot after a long time of traveling
mexican is my favorite! So yummy! I'm so happy you were able to eat some while you visited. :)
Yes!! When I got back from Malaysia, the only food I really missed was Mexican. It was non existent over there. Crazy.
lol while I was studying abroad all I wanted was a Chipotle burrito. I think Europe needs some mexican food.... I wonder if anyone would eat it besides american living abroad? I am glad you had fun with your family!
mexican food always hits the spot - esp. if there is a ton of chips and salsa involved!
noooo i can not look at mexican food!!! i dont get homesick often, but i really do often miss mexican food more than people (i can't skype mexican food). i do know how to make tacos and enchiladas and have done it here at least 4 times a week. luckily the boyfriend is requesting them so i dont feel as bad! glad to have you back in europe :) safe travels!
i. could. not. agree. more. come on germany - hop on the mexican food bandwagon! the good news is that taco shells from kaufland don't cost tooooo much, and if you have a good imagination and add a lot of it, "mexico" spice tastes a little like the taco seasoning packets, add lettuce, toamto, and guacamole (aka avacado mushed together with tomoatoes, onions, lemon juice and salt) and my mexican craving is almost satisfied...almost. i think a mango margarita would help.
Yummmmm... Nothings beats a good enchilada. Or taco. Or burrito. Or nachos. Nothing...
xo,
Sarah
this is just plain mean - drooling. TexMex will be my first stop on the way home from the airport.
i think i literally ate my weight in mexican food during our last trip home. it became a bit of a problem.
can i say how jealous I am that you spent a whole month stateside?!?!
I miss Mexican food too!! Because the East Coast has no idea what they are doing, most of the time. I also miss your presence in the same country. You can come back now.
Mmmm, Mexican is my fave too! =)
oohhh man, i would too! i watched this samantha brown takes europe episode when she said that there is an extreme absence/inability to make tex mex in europe (makes sense) and i realized that my world would totally explode if i didn't have ready access to it. first world problems, for sure.
ugggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh mexican food.
i dont think i need to say more.
Mmmm. Mexican!
Mexican food was created by God. I know it.
Mmmmm...i would of chose Mexican too!! It's the best anytime any day yum!!
Yum- I love Mexican food. My fave is the chips & salsa!!
Haha.. that's what I missed most food-wise, too! My first night back from London, I had my "welcome back dinner" at Bajio's Mexican Grill. :P Now you've got me missing it all over again!
Gosh, I do love Mexican food, but it's true, it's nigh on impossible to find good Mexican food in Europe :(
obviously mexican has to be the first meal.
I love Teds! I now am definitely going to go eat that for dinner! - Alyssa
Love the picture of you and your sisters. Not too often can I take one of the 3 of you together!!
I am American living in Switzerland and oh man do I miss food from back home {in seattle}. And you are exactly right, it's the Mexican I would go for first when I make it back home. There is a Mexican place here, but it's just not the same.
