A couple of weeks ago, I had a work conference a just outside of Cologne. As I’d never been to Cologne, I decided to take some time before my conference began to sight-see (with my friend Emily!).

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – work trips are the best. You get paid to travel!
I'm so jealous! I only get to go to Houston... - Alyssa
Beautiful! What's the story behind the lock wall?
I love cologne! I've been twice - my husband and I have a lock on that bridge!!!! ;)

My 100 follower giveaway is in full swing!
Hannah - couples get a lock and put it there as a symbol of their commitment to each other. It's really sweet!
wow, that Emily friend seems pretty cool!
;)
also, not to do shameless blog self-promoting, but since it was asked, I recently wrote about the locks specifically...
If you really love me you'll lock it on the Rhine
I'm happy you liked my city. I love Cologne! :)
And oh look, we currently have pictures of the same buildings on our blogs.

David and I only made it to Cologne to eat lunch and climb the tower on our way from Amsterdam to Frankfurt. It looks so lovely from your perspective.
Also-- loving your Salzburg birthday post. I think I'm going to add "visit Salzburg with Jenni" on my bucket list :)
You're right - Cologne IS pretty :) Lucky you getting to travel for work!
yea i need to go there. i feel like i always say that. i have a lot of places i need to go to then.
work travel is the BEST. that is why i decided for my MBA i was going to concentrate on international business...figure the best way to travel (and not sleep in crap hostels and eat bread) was to be paid to do it :)
unfortunately i dont have a job. so it kind of ruins my whole realm of thinking there.
I live in Cologne and I'm happy that you like the city. I hope that you've also looked at the shops in the Belgian Quarter? :)
