DSC02219 (3)

The weather is Dresden has been so nice!

It’s been 60s and 70s each day that I’ve been here,

which, believe it or not, seems pretty chilly to me.

Keep in mind, though, that this past summer I spent 5 weeks in a place

that ranged from 110 – 116 degrees Fahrenheit on a daily basis

so 60 degrees feels like I’m living at the North Pole.

(It’s nothing a cardigan and circle scarf can’t fix, though.)

The other day, my friend Hannah and I laid in the grass at a nearby park

and read The Hunger Games (her : book #2, me : book #3*).

“This is so peaceful and perfect”, I thought to myself,

as I shut my eyes and drifted off to sleep.

When I opened my eyes 5-10 minutes later,

there was a spider, approximately 1/2 an inch away from me,

crawling toward my face.

Let’s just say that that afternoon’s serenity session in the park

came to a very abrupt halt.

All was made right in the world, however,

with a quick walk home and a Project Runway marathon,

which, if you must know,

was made complete by a Peanut-butter-and-Nutella related snack.

In conclusion, life in Dresden is shaping up to be just fine.

Just fine, indeed.

*I’ve finished the series…and I don’t know what to do with my life.  It’s all I can do to not re-read them all over again!

I'd never heard of these books until you're blogs, and now I must confess I'm actually pretty curious.

Spider on face is never good. Actually it's always bad.

Sleeping in the grass is lush though. I need to do more of that before it's covered in snow.

I want to be you.

In other news, I’m obsessed with reading and you are making me want to read the Hunger Games. So now I am about to Google and then probably buy. I WILL KEEP YOU UPDATED. I know you will be sitting on pins and needles until then

I wish we could hangout in your day room having Project Runway marathons and eating nutella. Those were the days.

Guess I have to read 'The Hunger Games' too! Sounds like paradise, enjoy this idyll and try to keep away from spiders (they bite!) ;)

AH LOVE THE HUNGER GAMES. Except, I was pretty disappointed in book 3 so I'd love to hear your take on it when you finish.

And if you still have warm weather in Dresden, I'm super jealous. It's been 13 or so here the last couple days.

I am only on chapter 6 of book one and I am already sad that they will ever come to an end!

Reminds me of when a very fuzzy caterpillar ambushed me on a camping trip. Why do bugs conspire to attack us in our sleep?!

At least there is Nutella to make it all better.

xo,

Sarah
