last year, i celebrated thanksgiving in one of the best ways possible. i’d be lying, though, if i said the thanksgiving i celebrated with my sister in alaska wasn’t pretty special itself. spending holidays without your family can be rough, but at least 1/5 of my family (my sister) was waiting for me when my plane touched down in the last frontier.
speaking of which, the journey there was by no means simple. riding in the tiny plane from anchorage to homer, for example, was especially memorable (since the plane was the size of a sailboat and we were seated in rows according to our weight….) but hey, i’m the girl who loves turbulence so the bumpier flight, the better, i say.
fun fact: you could see the northern lights from my sister’s bedroom window!
that house is so cute. who is in alaska? i would love to go one day :)
Adorable house!! I'm so jealous..I've always wanted to see the northern lights..coolness.
ummm, that house belongs to who?! i love it!
my sister!
jealous. so jealous. been to 45 states but NEVER to alaska. please tell me you took photos of the northern lights which i have yet to see here in norway :(
and im jealous of your sister for living in that freaking adorable home.
i love turbulence too! and alaska, gosh i wanna go. gorg!
that is the smallest plane i've ever heard of! that sounds like a fun little trip - love the pictures ;)
love,
elisabeth
Alaska (aside from ALL of Europe) is at the VERY top of places I want to see! How gorgeous! And the Northern lights, WOW! Hope you had fun with your sister, her place is so cozy :)
And turbulence, really? I practically pee myself every time i'm flying and when hit a bumpy patch. ha
Your sister lives in Alaska?? That is amazing....and that house is so perfectly cozy. I love the Alaskan landscape, and I definitely want to go one day...I hear its very beautiful in the summer months, too.
But somehow, that whole seating according to weight thing isn't too comforting....
Wow how pretty!!
oooh, turbulence lover! just livin on the edge, girlfriend. glad you got some good quality sister time for thanksgiving :) i have always wanted to see the northern lights!!
super impressed that in addition to your life galivanting around europe, you get to hop around the US of A. Alaska looks amazing and I love your sister's use of color in her house. Very Ikea-approved. What sort of work brought her to Alaska?
first, I don't know how you like turbulence. It scares the crap out of me. Second, her house decor is adorable. Third, I want to go to Alaska!
Omg, love the pics! That house is sooo cute! I love all the colors! Also, I've had to fly on a plane like that in Wyoming once, they made us move to redistribute weight, and one time when I flew from Philly to NYC the plane was so small the wing had the propellers on the outside ...but unlike you, I'm TERRIFIED of flying, especially turbulence (even though I fly on average once a month) so please tell me your secret so I can stop having panic attacks!! ...also did it take you 90 hrs to get from Europe to Alaska??
I wish I could have seen the red house!!
oh my goodness, the pictures, the mountains...that red house!! what gorgeous scenery :) sounds like a lovely thanksgiving!!
how adorable! I'd love to go to alaska one day..
oh wow, alaska looks BEAUTIFUL!! all the snow, and the house looks super pretty and comfy. I'd love to spend my winter in a place like this :)
omw your sister lives in Homer? Homer is the such a beautiful place! I was there last year and LOVED it. So gorgeous!
Oh my goodness, what gorgeous scenery!!! I can only imagine how beautiful that it was in person.
That is the cutest quaint little home EVER. It's decorated so nicely.
Glad you enjoyed your trip & FYI, you are the only person I've heard say the more turbulence the better LOL!
i am in.love with this house. the most adorable things i've ever seen!
