christopher plummer! what a stud.
yesterday was february 5th, and february 5th will always mean a little something to me. on february 5th, 2009, i hopped on a plane and moved to salzburg, austria – to the very alps seen in the above photo. i chose to leave austria and move to germany and i'm so glad i did, but sometimes.... i am overwhelmed with homesickness for my musically lively hills.
2009 was such a memorable year -- the year i emailed my parents back in the states and said, "sorry, not coming home, gonna stay here forever" -- but 2012 has some pretty good things in store for me….. just you wait. operation "living in the present moment" commences....now!

As someone who often gets sucked into obsessing over the past...I hear you.

I went to Switzerland on a study abroad a couple years ago... and I miss it so much! The alps are beautiful.
I mentally broke out into, "The hills are alive...with the sound of music..." when I saw that picture. And yes, my mental voice is as lovely as Julie's is.
It's a good thing to take a trip down memory lane every once in awhile. And your blog shows that you definitely live in the moment and for the future. So important to have a balance.
I love Christopher Plummer! It's amazing to think that after all these years he's still acting, still winning awards, and still as handsome as ever. I watched Oprah's interview with the entire cast of TSOM and he was just so charming!
I'm trying to figure out how to say this without sounding pervy. But I can't, so just know that it's not meant to be pervy. I realized I had "grown up" while watching SoM. I had completely forgotten about the song "something good," b/c, as a kid, it was just one of the boring, mushy songs. When I watched again as a teenager it became my favorite part of the entire movie because I just gushed over Christopher Plummer. As Gemma would say, "What. A. Stud." (British accent implied, obvi)

did i ever tell you that i saw him and jules (yes we are on a first name basis) when they came to boston to do a christmas concert? i was in the major nosebleed seats at the garden but it was amazing. those two are fantastic.
i also love his role in must love dogs. classic.

2. I am in love with this photo...the Sound of Music is one of my favorite movies and Christopher Plummer is a stone cold fox

I may or may not have started singing. This movie has always made me want to visit Austria! I love what your sister said! We all need to remember that!

And I spend way too much time in the past or future--but am trying so hard to just live in the prestn, so I get exactly where you are coming from.

I completely agree with what you said in this post. I too have the habit of living in the past as well as my future plans, often forgetting to take in the now. Thanks for the reminder, i'm going to enjoy every minute from now on.
