Graduate Financial Aid Options

Federal Loans

Direct Unsubsidized Stafford Loan

Direct Unsubsidized Stafford loans are awarded without regard to financial need. Interest will accrue from the time the loan is disbursed. The student must submit a Master Promissory Note (MPN) and complete online entrance counseling through StudentAid.gov for their first Stafford Loan at Belmont University. Graduate students must be enrolled in at least three hours to receive these loans.

Federal Direct Graduate Plus Loans

Federal Direct Graduate Plus Loans are credit-based loans for graduate students. Graduate students may complete a PLUS Credit Application and, if approved, may use the funds to help pay for education expenses up to the cost of attendance minus all other financial assistance. Interest is charged during all periods. Students must be enrolled at least three hours. If you are applying for a Direct PLUS for the first time as a graduate/professional student, you’ll need to complete a Graduate PLUS MPN through StudentAid.gov that is separate from the one that you use for your Direct Unsubsidized Loans.
